SHYFEM MODEL - System of HydrodYnamic Finite Element Modules. SHYFEM is a 3-D, baroclinic, fully stratified hydrodynamic finite-element model solving primitive equations with tidal, atmospheric, and density-driven forces. Suitable for open seas, coastal zones, lagoons, deltas, estuaries, and lakes. Coupled with wave models (Wavewatch III, WWM) and used for storm-surge, sediment-transport, pollutant-dispersion, and water-quality studies.
