The overall objective of SVAIS is to contribute to the understanding of the evolution of glacial continental margins and the relationships with the changes in ice sheet dynamics induced by climatic changes. The study is based on the acquisition of an integrate set of geophysical and stratigraphic data from one single sedimentary system in the northern Barents Sea, as well as on the analysis of existing stratigraphic data in the Arctic and in the North Atlantic.
