ISOTOPE VRE

The ISOTOPE VRE represents Italy's first comprehensive national Virtual Research Environment (VRE) service dedicated to stable isotopes. The ISOTOPE VRE is relied on a national database on environmental stable isotopes missing so far in Italy that is collecting the data and information scattered across various sources and institutions, currently hindering data and information retrieval. The ISOTOPE VRE service gathers and harmonises isotope data from various matrices, along with their accompanying metadata. The ISOTOPE VRE initiative also incorporates tools for analysis, interpretation, and modelling services allowing researchers and environmental managers to retrieve coordinated information and analysis tools. The ISOTOPE VRE is a prototype designed and implemented in a synchronized way with the different activities of the ITINERIS WP8, guaranteeing the consistency of the system of VRE services, and to tackle environmentally significant concerns that have a profound societal effect.
